Broader Impacts

2018: In partnerships with two CCI colleagues, I am developing an initiative to bring Climate Interactive’s World Climate Negotiation Simulation to communities and schools across the state of Maine to provide an interactive way for people to learn about international climate change governance.  We are also developing a data visualization toolkit to accompany the program. To date, we have run the program at the UMaine Climate Change Institute Retreat, the 2018 Camden Conference, and the Maine Science Teacher Association annual conference, and the Hutchinson Center in Belfast.

2017: The Nicaragua research team was composed of an undergraduate student from the University of Maine and a high school Spanish teacher. In addition to their substantive contributions to the research, we also worked on projects to develop their research skills and curriculum on climate change respectively.
